Trying to make those connections with the students in your class? Do you have so many students, it it overwhelming to reach all kids? Try this. Use the sheet below which is divided up into the days of the week. Then split your students among the days. On those days, that a students name lies, you can put a little more focus on them. Write back to them in journals, ask them questions in line, or give a little more attention on work. Now you are able to get to know all the students in your room and make those connections.

New Tier 2 Groups
If you are a tier 2 teacher, would you please check your groups to be sure I have added all the students that your team has discussed. If there need to be changes, just email me.
Tier 2 Information
Please be sure that you are taking attendance for your Tier 2 groups as well as progress monitoring weekly.
Tier 2 Progress Monitoring
Be sure that you are progress monitoring. If using a Walpole measure, complete the PM in order (1-5 A, 6-10 A, 11-15A or 1-5A, 1-5 B, 6-10A, 6-10 B). This is how the PM was meant to be used.
Read to Succeed
I am putting a reading incentive in all teachers' mailboxes. It is the Read to Succeed hosted by Six Flags. Basically, students need to log 6 hours total of reading and they earn a free ticket to Six Flags in New Jersey. All you have to do is sign up for the program and enter students who have completed the log. It is a no stress program! If you would like to read about it, here is the link...Read To Succeed.
Lexia Reminder
Be sure that your students who are using Lexia are using it at least 50-75 minutes a week. I would suggest, everyday for 20 minutes to get the maximum benefits.
If teachers are not using their slots, let me know. Other teachers have been inquiring about adding more students.
Performance Tasks and Classroom Activities
On Sharepoint, there are classroom activities that provide students with information about the topic of the Performance Task that they will be completing. All students should be exposed to this prior to PT task. It is a quick, very scripted and timed activity.
